    About Me

    Get to Know John Doe

    So who am I?

    That’s a fair question—and one I’ll answer as honestly as I can.

At the same time, I want to be upfront about something:

I’ve chosen to keep my true identity private.

Not because I have anything to hide—but because who I am is not the most important part of this project.

    What I stand for is.

That said, I am a real person.
    This is a real life.
And this is a real journey.

    A Little About Me

I’m a man in my mid-40s, currently living in Florida.

I grew up in Canada, just outside of Toronto, in a middle-class family in a typical suburban neighborhood. My childhood was simple in the best possible way.

Most of my days were spent:

    • Outdoors in the woods behind our house
    • Fishing in a nearby creek just minutes away
    • Exploring, wandering, and enjoying nature

Those early experiences shaped a lot of who I am today.

I come from a close family.

My father was a former professional hockey player, and my mother is one of the most hardworking and caring people I’ve ever known. She dedicated much of her life to raising our family before later working as a dental assistant for many years.

I have an older brother and a younger sister, and to this day, we’ve remained very close.

    Moving to Florida

In my mid-20s, after finishing university, I followed my girlfriend—now my wife—to Florida.

    We’ve been here ever since.

Today, I’m a dual U.S. and Canadian citizen.

While I still love getting back to Canada to visit family, life doesn’t always make that as easy as I’d like. But it’s always a part of who I am.

    How I Live

    I don’t live a highly consumptive lifestyle.

I enjoy nice things, but I wouldn’t describe myself as materialistic.

What matters more to me is:

    • A comfortable home
    • Time with my family
    • Being outdoors
    • Fishing or fly fishing in quiet places
    • Investing for the future

If I had to describe where I get the most happiness in life, it would be simple:

    Helping people.

    Or even smaller than that—

    Making someone smile.

    A Lifelong Entrepreneur

I’ve been self-employed since I was about 19 years old.

Long before platforms like WordPress existed, I taught myself how to build websites using raw HTML. Since then, I’ve created hundreds of websites across many different industries.

Over the years, I’ve worked on:

    • Membership and subscription-based websites
    • Automotive websites
    • A dating platform
    • Ebooks and digital products
    • Marketing programs and online businesses

The internet has been my career, my classroom, and my playground for more than two decades.

    My Interests

I’ve always had a wide range of interests.

But if there’s one thing that stands above everything else, it’s this:

    Fishing.

There is nothing in life that brings me more peace than being on a quiet stream or lake.

It’s not even about catching anything.

    It’s about:

    • Being in nature
    • Slowing down
    • Being present

Growing up in Canada, hockey was naturally a big part of life—especially with a father who played professionally and a brother who shared that passion.

But for me, fishing always came first.

Beyond that, I’ve always been curious and hands-on.

    As a kid:

    • I took apart my car’s interior to install my own audio systems
    • Built subwoofer setups from scratch
    • Learned everything through trial and error

I’ve also had a deep appreciation for:

    • Cars
    • Video games
    • Sports cards
    • Exploring nature and wildlife

As I got older, I became heavily interested in art.

I started as a wildlife and landscape artist, and later moved into abstract and contemporary work.

And throughout my life, I’ve always had a strong interest in financial markets.

    Today, I actively invest in:

    • Stocks
    • Index funds
    • Fortune 500 companies (especially dividend-paying ones)

I’ve even taken the time to teach myself day trading along the way.

    Why I Created This Website

    The truth is simple.

For most of my life, I’ve lived in a way that focused more on building and consuming than giving.

Not in a bad way—but in a very normal, modern way.

And at some point, I realized:

    I want to give more.

Even if I only meaningfully impact one person, this entire project is worth it to me.

Of course, I hope it reaches more than that.

    But even one matters.

    What This Site Is About

This is an inspirational website—but not in a polished, unrealistic way.

I want this to be real.

I want people to come here and:

    • Feel better
    • Feel encouraged
    • Feel less alone
    • Be inspired to do something good

I believe there are still people in this world who care more about others than they do about money.

And I want this to be one of those places.

Yes, I want to make money.

Because the more I have, the more I can give.

But the purpose is always the same:

To help people live more meaningful lives.

    Transparency & My Journey

This is a life journey site.

So I share things openly, including:

    • My goals
    • My financials
    • My progress
    • The people I’ve helped

Not to impress anyone—but to be honest.

I want you to see what this path actually looks like in real life.

And hopefully, it inspires you to take your own steps in helping others.

    Donations (Optional)

I want to be very clear:

You should never feel obligated to give anything.

If you prefer, support your own charities or help people directly in your own life.

That’s just as meaningful—if not more.

But if you ever want to support what I’m doing, I truly appreciate it.

The most helpful donations are simple:

    • Cash
    • Stamps
    • Envelopes
    • High-quality inkjet paper

These allow me to continue sending letters and spreading this message further.

I also accept other types of donations that I can convert into funds to help more people.

    But again:

    Nothing is ever expected.

    My Personal Life

I’ve been with the same woman for over 25 years.

Last year, we adopted our son.

He is an incredible, beautiful boy—and he has brought more joy into our lives than I can ever fully express.

Becoming a father has deepened my sense of purpose in ways I didn’t expect.

    I want to:

    • Give him the best life possible
    • Be the best husband I can be
    • Take care of my family
    • Lead by example

    A Personal Goal

One of my biggest dreams has always been to give my parents a large financial gift.

They spent their entire lives putting their children first.

    They didn’t chase luxury.
    They didn’t spend on themselves.
They gave everything they had to us.

That’s the kind of parent I want to be.

But I also want to go beyond that.

I want to help people all over the world—not just those closest to me.

    Where This Is Going

This started as an idea to send physical letters to people—with small amounts of money included—just to remind them that they matter.

    Even to a stranger.

Even to someone they’ve never met.

But I quickly realized how expensive that would be at scale.

So this website became the foundation.

A place where the message can live.

A place where it can grow.

    A Simple Belief

We are living in a world that is becoming increasingly focused on things that don’t truly matter.

    More consumption.
    More comparison.
    More distraction.

    And less connection.

    Less kindness.

    Less humanity.

I don’t want to contribute to that.

I want to be part of something better.

    Final Thought

I’ve always believed I was meant to do something meaningful.

For a long time, I just didn’t know what that was.

    Now I do.

    I want to reach people.

    I want to help people.

And if you’re here reading this—you’re already part of that journey.

    One Last Thing

If you take anything away from this page, let it be this:

Do something small to make the world better today.

    Smile at someone.
    Help someone.
    Care a little more.

You might be surprised at how much it matters.

    God Bless,
    John Doe
